May Newsletter
Award Annoucement! May Updates! My fight with FOMO!
Where has the year gone?
I feel like I hit the ground running with this year, and it’s already May. I’m a school librarian, and our year is closing out (thank goodness), so it makes it go by both slowly and really fast.
And with the year… comes news!!
drumroll
THE CURIOUS CASE OF THE MIDNIGHT SPECTER is a Realm Makers Finalist in the Young Adult Category!
I’m so honored to be one of the top 5 books that entered in this category!
Unfortunately, I won’t be at Realm Makers…again. Haha. I literally always have a reason I can’t go, and this year is a good one, I PROMISE! But, alas, I won’t be there. It’s fine, though! I will be there in spirit, and my book will be there, too!
Writing Updates
I FINISHED MY READ THROUGH OF LEIGHANNA’S SECOND BOOK!! I have sent the whole thing to my beta reader and have already been reading her comments. I made this books on Instagram about it, but I am sharing it again here. :)

Exciting, right???
DO YOU GET FOMO LIKE ME?
I’ve been struggling with FOMO lately.
How so?
It’s not writing, but it is book related.
The new hockey series on Amazon.
Yep. I love romance. I love sport romance. I love fake dating. THIS NEW SHOW HAS IT ALL!
But what it also has? Smut.
Now, if you read/watch smut, that’s you. Me? I don’t. I used to read open door books, but I stopped years ago because I don’t think reading them aligns with my views, and I also want to read books I can share with everyone.
So, if you’re like me, here are some recs!
THE APPIES by Jenny Proctor and Emma St. Clair
The Appies Series co-written by Emma St. Clair and Jenny Proctor is one of my favorites! I’ve read all but the last (AS YOU ICE IT) via audiobook, and I cannot recommend them enough.
COULD’VE FOOLED ME by Jenny Proctor
COULD’VE FOOLED ME by Jenny Proctor is a companion to the Appies novels, highlighting one of the younger players a few years after he leaves the Appies. I ADORED this book and can’t wait for book two in September (it’s about his twin!!!).
HOLIDAYS WITH HART by Courtney Walsh
Lastly, the HOLIDAYS WITH HART series by Courtney Walsh! I loved these, too, and even didn’t want to wait on the audiobook for book three and got the ebook. They’re fun and sweet, and it follows three sisters who fall in love with hockey players!!
I hope you love these recommendations if you’re feeling FOMO like I am!
Happy May!

I feel so honored to be giving you very unhinged comments on Leighanna's second book.
